I usually just go to my local snappy snaps with a usb drive and get them printed onto photo paper. They can do custom sizing as well using their photoshop software.
I personally wouldn’t bother with laminating as well
Yeah they look better on photo stock paper, if printed on standard office paper they are better laminated as there is not real rigidity in the paper.
Also the colours are better on photo paper and look much fuller and vibrant
