UPDATE: Nothing to see here - was flash lamp fuse that (F111) that had blown - can't believe I hadn't noticed the flashers weren't working - idiot - fuse replaced, MOD is working (well the LEDs are flashing in Clock Millions mode - not sure if motor is turning the minute hands since as I broke the minute hand off with my big fat fingers when I was installing the damned thing!).
Anyone bought the Clock Millions MOD for Twilight Zone? This one:
I installed one (breaking the plastic minute hand in the process :-() but it's just not working.
Description says it should light up and minute handle (if not broken!) should turn in clock millions mode. It's dead as a dodo.
I installed as per badly printed instructions - tapping off molex connector at back right under playfield. I am confused as to why it should be connected there however as I would have thought it should be connected in some way to clock millions lamp since as it's supposed to come on in clock millions mode and as far as I can see it taps off a green/white wire which according to manual is upper right flasher (though the green/white wire going in to that connector connects to the blue/yellow wire coming out of the connector which is inner ramp flasher according to manual!).
I have been in touch with the Ebay seller I bought it from and they confirmed that I had connected it up correctly and recommended I tested for voltages at the connector but as the flashers all appear to be working I don't think that is the issue.
I have tested continuity from the wires to the motor to the tap off connector - in case the wires got broken or disconnected when I was installing it and I have continuity but the two wires coming out from the clock motor appear to be joined together to one wire which seems a little strange - I would have thought the + and - would have been wired separately in the connector. I also get no voltage to the motor in the MOD even when in clock millions mode.
Just wondering if anyone has this MOD and has had any issues with it or can give me any pointers as to diagnostics.
Thanks
Andy
