So newbie question I know but I’m looking for recommendations on a soldering iron and solder.

Has anyone bought any from Amazon that was particular good?

Thanks in advance

Should be said about the TS100, the tip it comes with isn't so great, the ones with flat ends work a lot better with it.
I had some bad experiences with the original tip!

I’m a convert to the T-12 direct heat solder stations. Really nice bits of kit with a wide range of tips. Tons of config, and gets to optimum heat crazy fast.

Something like this: KSGER T12 V3.0 STM32 72W Soldering Iron Station Digital Temperature Controller Welder Rework Repairing Tool

Thanks for the reply’s guys I’ve had a look through previous threads... Cheers [emoji1303]

Only thing to add is regarding the solder, definitely 60/40 with rosin core.
Make sure you DO NOT get lead-free stuff as it needs a higher temperature to melt and is far more difficult to work with.

Example here although you can probably find it cheaper if you shop around.
