Pinball Main Competition and side tournament with a twist.
Sanctioned for WPPR Points. Tournament Directors: David Mainwaring, Greg Mott & Martin Ayub.

PInball & BBQ in the rain event.

Sunday September 28th 2014.
Practise from 10:30am. Tournament starts at Midday until finished.

Warm up for Belgium Pinball Open (Following Weekend).

Registration opens at 10am on the 1st of September 2014

Strictly 48 places will be available. You will be added to the paid list within a few hours of payment. Please check that you have been added correctly.

This is a non profit event. Any profits will be added to the next charity Pinball event.

Payment is non-refundable unless we are oversubscribed.

It's Official! We now have a dedicated chef for the day. BBQ will be served between Midday and 4pm. Other snacks and drinks will continue outside these times. Expect some weight gain!

Beans are an option but we decided against this with 43 people bunched up in a small space :) So I thought Sardines would closely represent the event better.

The list in main post is updated with new players as soon as they have registered.
 
Pinburgher 2014 House Rules

Please park your car with consideration of the local people.

Bring flip flops or slippers with you as shoes are not welcome in the house as we are Buddhist.

Doors will be open at 10:30 and NOT before. Please use the side gate and not the front door!
 
Here’s an overview of the format for the side comp at the Pinburger BBQ in the Rain tournament:

- Will be very similar to the side comp at David's 48th birthday comp and UK Pinball Cup
- Head to head knockout on one machine chosen at random
- Will be 40+ down to 24, down to 12 down to 6, down to 3 in final on one machine.
- If less than 48 players, one or more 3 player groups with top 2 going through to next round of 24
· Matches drawn by player picking a number out of the hat when registering for comp and draw flows through for rest of comp
- Machines randomly drawn at beginning and allocated to pre determined slots in chart. In some later rounds, machines drawn from those not played by players.
· Rounds will be between main comp after rounds 3, 6, 9 and 12 of main comp
- Coin toss to decide order of play
· Normal rules of etiquette and machine faults apply, tournament director decision final although may consult to reach decision

Knockout! Format Rules

3 strikes and your out!

In each round, all the participants are paired into two player matches.
If there are an odd number of players in a round, one person will get a bye that round.

There are checks in place to prevent a player getting a second bye before anyone else gets their first bye.

After the round is complete, the total number of losses or 'strikes' are tallied for each player. If a participant has the maximum allowed number of strikes, they do not proceed to the next round and are eliminated.

Players with less than the maximum allowed number of strikes proceed to the next round and are randomly drawn into the next set of match pairs.

Last participant standing wins!

Tournament Director's decision will be final.

So at worst case, only get to play 4 games?

David, are all your machines being used in the comp? ie once knocked out, are there any machines to play
 
Yes there will be machines playable in the later rounds. Plus you get 90 minutes practise
