I have a chip on what I imagine is called the clear coat - yes, I’m new to this - and there’s some ghosting too, I’ll attach pics. After some research, I’ve read I can layer up super glue and then sand and polish to an as new finish without danger of damage to the artwork.
Or there’s uv light/glue, not sure if this drys clear!
Does anyone have any experience with this….?

Sounds like the worst advice ever, I’d imagine super gluing then sanding your playfield/insert will look really ****.
Is that literally not just a sticker on top of an insert??

Believe it or not a guy in the states had a huge bottle of superglue and was sealing the wood on the cabinet and squeegeeing it all over to stabilise it ready for stencilling, I watched his video and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He didn’t work fast enough for my liking😂
He is a nice bloke on Pinside😎

That’s what I thought, same with the uv. It is a sticker. I really didn’t want to peel it off 😬

Oh yeah, I certainly do. Mine were worse too. I'll start a thread later. Superglue, maybe (I have read that one before), I cut out and replaced.
Did you get someone local to copy the decal? I’m guessing that’s what it is at the end of the day.. or can you buy them?

I suspect that’s damage due to having the Mylar removed it’s pulled on the insert and separated the print from the actual playfield insert not much you can do with it I would just leave alone

This looks like the clear has delaminated. You can try a syringe, put some clear lacquer in and try to inject it at the crack. Your mileage may vary. Has anybody ever tried one of the windshield repair units? They draw the resin in with vacuum and UV cure - that could work. Sand off, repaint/sticker and clear otherwise. No fun.

Its a decal, which Ive now removed, I’m going to print a new one and replace, with a clear coat on top.

The superglue fix was something that was common 20 years ago and I have used it successfully for small touch ups of dings in clearcoated playfields and it works well but I wouldn;t attempt to try it on anything bigger than about 2-3mm across and it doesn't work as well over playfield inserts, much better over painted areas. The glue finds its own level, so if you get the right amount in there it doesn't need much sanding and you can finish with 2000 grit paper and then polish. However, for the size of damage you have, superglue isn't the way to go and other methods are better.
