Having regrettably let go of House of Horrors , I was looking forward to owning a Scared Stiff again to continue my Elvira fix

However it turns out to be EVEN more troublesome

The spider hole kickout WILL NOT consitantly kick out a ball and about every 10 times gets stuck in ball search loop indefinely meaning Game Over. Boney ramp looks new. This is in single ball play , heavens knows what would ahppen if more than 1 ball in the hole! Andy Mania had a look today and can't see anything wrong with it. I have had 11 SS including ones with ramps on there last legs and have only encountered very occasional spider hole VUK handups

SS should be a simple fun reliable newbie friendly game. This is unplayable

HIVE mind help apprecaited.

Pinball mojo at a low today .

Do you have the ramp protector installed?

Is it a repro or original playfield?

I only ask as dimple positions are often off on repro and you end up having to reposition it.

I have some things you can try but need those answers first.

Is the kickout firing and ball dropping back into hole or is it not firing, i.e. mechanical or electrical?

Ah my bad, I thought this was making it out of the VUK onto the ramp, not getting stuck on the popper itself. It just sounds like it's just not actuating the switch. Should be a matter of checking the ball popper itself and switch.

Worst case it needs replacing, best case it needs adjusting.

firing goes back into hole then gives up. doesnt go onto ramp. does it correctly first time 1 out of 3

Start off by removing the metal loop protector.

It can get bent over time.

Adjust the spine plastics so that they are raised to there top level, the legs should be just pinching the edge of ramp (the lip).

Adjust the metal loop if necessary, add a washer for a raised height if necessary.

Next part is trial and error. Adjust the position and height, turn the game on, place a ball into the spider hole, use a camera phone and put it on slow motion. Look where the ball is/isn't making contact.

You want it to make a clear shot through the flap and onto hitting the ceiling (the metal protector).

If the ramp is a repro, it's likely thicker and slightly different in shape. This play havoc with the VUK flap.

Scared Stiff is actually surprisingly difficult to dial in especially with repro parts.

Don't get me started on the eddy boards 🤣

Only 11?!?!!
One game I beat you on. Owned 16.

Andy Is no idiot so he would of done everything already mentioned.

I had a right pain SS once and found it was faults on boards that was a pig to find

Your welcome to send it across to mine
