Does anyone know what rivets are used to attach spring steel flaps to metal ramps (the shadow)? And a cheap tool (I only need to do 4 so don't want to fork out to much)

To attach the flaps to the ramps I would avoid the press-less rivets.
You need the fixing to be as strong as possible on the ramp entrances. See if there is anyone who is going to your next league meet who could do it for you.
I would but to far away.

have just been through all this.

Couldn't find a cheap alternative from the UK (for either the press or the rivets), so ended up getting this...
http://home.earthlink.net/~mountainminded/html/the_better_tonka_rivet_tool_-_.html
and the 'master rivet kit' from here http://www.pinrestore.com/Riveting.html

There are links from the first page that will show you how to work out what size of rivet you need - would be interested to know if you managed to find any in the UK.

When I refurbed my shadow last year, I bought the upgraded ramps from the states and they turned up without entry flaps, so had to swap them over from the old ramps. Since I didn't have the rivet tool at the time, I attached them with the smallest domed allen head bolts and lock nuts that I could find (m4's I think). Still haven't got round to swapping them for rivets - and they've been fine.

Cheers
Geoff
