Retro Station Halifax

I have not been there but Blast from the Past is also in Halifax and that is well.worth a visit. Bftp has 6 machines all older titles but in great condition and where else would you get to.play 1947 Humpty Dumpty?

If retro station isn't any good bftp will.make up.for it. And the Piece Hall in which it is located is an amazing building.

Not been but went on their Facebook page. In June they posted a video tour and I only saw one pinball, it was quite blurry but fairly confident it looked like a Party Zone. Might be worth messaging them to ask which pin(s) they have now.

I don't think they know themselves .They said 2, Star Trek and Party Wheel of Fortune???????? The vid did show a Party Zone.

So we went to Piece Hall to Blast from the past its not far for us 10mls 7 pins Humpty Dumpty, Apollo, Triple Strike, Capt Fantastic, Gorgar, Blackout, Black Knight.
Capt Fantastic top flippers not working
Gorgar Not working and looks like for quite some time glass off and piled up with bits
Black Knight kept resetting part way though games.

Shame. Very different from my visit 6 months ago when all worked well.
I think some of these places simply buy some games stick them on the floor and have no idea about maintenance, just hoping that they've tapped into the retro arcade buzz and will miraculously make some money, bizarre.

Have a listen to the Electric Bat arcade podcast and you'll hear what it takes to run a successful arcade business. The owners there are absolutely dedicated to keeping things working and clean.

That's not the case with Blast from the Past. The owner is a pinball / retro gaming enthusiast and he bought all his machines as projects and refurbished them himself. He is on pinballinfo but doesn't post much. When I visited I spent quite a bit of time chatting to him. It's a small owner run business and the older pinball machines will take a lot more maintenance than if there were a row of modern Sterns. The pinballs are just part of his business -there are more arcade machines and consoles. It must be a hard business to keep up and running and long hours particularly as the set up would require any maintenance to be done outside of opening hours - it's a small place. Maybe I was lucky on my visit and @Moorey was unlucky on his and if you went next week all would be fixed.

Quite possible he did say he was awaiting parts from Germany.
