Go along and report back!I don't think they know themselves .They said 2, Star Trek and Party Wheel of Fortune???????? The vid did show a Party Zone.
You win some you lose some.Shame. Very different from my visit 6 months ago when all worked well.
I think some of these places simply buy some games stick them on the floor and have no idea about maintenance, just hoping that they've tapped into the retro arcade buzz and will miraculously make some money, bizarre.Shame. Very different from my visit 6 months ago when all worked well.
That's not the case with Blast from the Past. The owner is a pinball / retro gaming enthusiast and he bought all his machines as projects and refurbished them himself. He is on pinballinfo but doesn't post much. When I visited I spent quite a bit of time chatting to him. It's a small owner run business and the older pinball machines will take a lot more maintenance than if there were a row of modern Sterns. The pinballs are just part of his business -there are more arcade machines and consoles. It must be a hard business to keep up and running and long hours particularly as the set up would require any maintenance to be done outside of opening hours - it's a small place. Maybe I was lucky on my visit and @Moorey was unlucky on his and if you went next week all would be fixed.I think some of these places simply buy some games stick them on the floor and have no idea about maintenance, just hoping that they've tapped into the retro arcade buzz and will miraculously make some money, bizarre.
Have a listen to the Electric Bat arcade podcast and you'll hear what it takes to run a successful arcade business. The owners there are absolutely dedicated to keeping things working and clean.
Quite possible he did say he was awaiting parts from Germany. That's not the case with Blast from the Past.
