Sold Restored & Full LED Data East Robocop

What a lovely looking machine. Saw the ebay ad first and loved the presentation. Good luck with the sale and I'm sure whoever buys it will be really happy.

Appreciate the nice comments, thanks guys!

Took some better photos in the daylight, they're all up on my Flickr account.

You win the award for most expensive Robocop ever!

Pretty sure if you're willing to leave it up there for a while someone will have it eventually.

Ha! I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to have a dig at me on the price. Guess I should have gone higher :p

True, it's twice the price of a normal robocop. BUT. If you have a collection of very nice condition machines and you want a robocop then you'll pay a premium. You may have to wait longer or be open to negotiations but if that's the price you want. Then who are we!!

Lol. Wasn't meant as a dig. I have watched Robocops prices over the past year or so and this is the highest I've seen.

Well yeah going be hard pushed to find a better one obviously!

Not a garlic muncher though , so well over my budget for this table. I have been after some better shots of playfield, so thanks very much!

If you need anything specific just let me know and I'll take some pics for you :)

Yeah? Nice one Pete! If it's not too much bother some straight birds eye of the playfield close up sections. :) Most of playfield is black, so just the lamps and images and I can redraw and stitch. I have a nice set of plastic mages I can ship over when at my comp.

I made them myself. Will share them on here after the machine has sold.

Price drop (kind of) - will let this go at £1500 to anyone who buys in private (off eBay) and can pay in cash or bank transfer.

New projects coming in, so gonna have to shift it into storage after the weekend unless it's sold by then.

This is now packed up and stored. For anyone who wants to buy I will give the machine a full going over and mini shop out to make sure it is still in the condition advertised.

Robocop was my favourite Data East game of this period. But I don't think it is yet a £1,500 game.

There is a possible elephant in the room though.

One traded on eBay for £660 in November, but it was too far away for me to have a look at. It looked pretty good but the pictures were too grainy to make realistic assessment. The description was from a 71 feedback seller with 100% positive feedback.....

"This is a fully working Data East pinball machine and is in beautiful condition. The game has had hundreds of pounds spent on new parts including numerical display and LEDS etc. The machine plays nice and fast and the playfield is mint. The back glass is also in top order. The cabinet is crisp with no UV fade and would grace any games room. I have never seen a better example of Robo Cop and this machine was formally part of a museum. Please come and see and play the game yourself. Ideal Christmas gift for the man cave.
I urge you to come and play it.
Also available Tale from the Crypt and Terminator 3 and many classic ems.
Delivery by courier circa £90..00 or delivery and set up by engineer tba."

I get what you're saying but one sold in January last year for £990. I still have pics of the machine and it wasn't particularly nice, spray painted red legs, red surround on the backbox, no red/blue lenses on the backglass, front coin door area was completely painted black, lots of wear around the pop bumpers, no led's, old high voltage display, no electrical board repairs and upgrades, broken plastics, and it hadn't been shopped out. Plus the pics of it weren't great.

So if that can sell for £990 I don't think £1500 is unreasonable if you compare the two. Of course I'm making a loss on it but look at my description on eBay and the amount of work carried out - properly, no crappy shortcuts or bodge jobs. I'm really getting into this restoration stuff now. Just take a look at the pics on my flickr. It's probably only step down from a total high end restore.

I did actually speak to Todd Tuckey from TNT Amusements in the states and he said the last one he sold was $3200 - which works out at about £2000.

All a matter of opinion I suppose :)

Yep.... Price it as you see fit. If it's still for sale in a few months time then maybe a price drop. Totally your call. Always tricky with lovely examples of generally less sought after titles. Best bet is to get it listed everywhere, don't ignore the Euro market either. With this sort of sale you are looking for that ONE buyer that really wants a lovely RC.

I watched that one and it was rough, if you looked close you could see there was a big chunk taken out the backbox amongst other damage. ir was tidy enough, but if you wanted a genuinely mint one, your's in comparison is like night and day.

Thanks dude! Currently in the process of haggling with someone so this could be sold soon. :D

This has now sold. Buyer and myself were very happy with the price we finally agreed. I don't know where he came from but I've made a donation to the forum anyway. :)
