Hello, if your resorting a playing fields can the value of the pinball go Down. I don’t want to sell the machine but got some bad flaking. Thinking of getting it done or putting some sticker over it. Thanks for any help.

No. There are people who prefer more 'original' pins, but a lot of people also do extensive modding (e.g. LEDs, colour DMD screens, etc.)
Playfield swaps generally make a pinball machine look better, but it's a huge job that is expensive even if you do it yourself (e.g. £695 for a new playfield) and, as such, you're probably unlikely to recoup the money you've spent on sale. If you're expecting to keep the pin for a long time, then - obviously - it doesn't matter if it's not cost-effective.
In addition to Vee's comment, restoring playfields is not easy (colour matching in particular). Unless you are a very skilled and experienced artist, it's probably not something to try as the chances of making it worse are very high.
