repainting coin door advise needed

One of my jobs to do is repaint my coin door, i want it to have the original finish so im thinking something like hammered hammerite spray, Im assuming alot of you guys have been through this process before, has anyone got any tips?

i have seen that method before but that's not the finish on mine originally, mine is the typical 90's arcade style textured finish. Also i think i need to strip mine first as it has a few rust bubbles in it and i want to do it properly and not just patch it up.

I'm planning to use rust-oleum on my metal bits. They do a primer, hammered black and various clears.

used rust-oleums before on my dk jr, took weeks to go hard but the finish is awesome.
