Reconnecting a knocker, no socket, coin meter?

Hello, got this lovely Black Rose from @Renvil but the knocker is disconnected, I quite like knockers so would like to reconnect it.

After searching the forum earlier I read about the UKs tendency to have coin meters and when I got home I took a look.

See pictures for what I have...

Are the wires in the connection block for the knocker? Or not all of them?
How can I attach them considering there's no connector and the knocker has one. Could I take the knocker down and solder directly onto it?

Hi, yes the wires in the connector block are for the knocker or coin meter. The purple/yellow wires are the solenoid power which is daisy chained to other coils so need to be connected together to keep the chain. The other wire is the drive wire.
Disconnect the other wires which go to the coin meter and see if the block will reach up to the knocker. Cut the knocker plug off and connect the wires into the block.
Then go into solenoid test and see if the knocker comes up in the list. It may not do, in which case you may need to change the CPU board links to change the country setting.
Hope that helps!

Brilliant! I hadn't thought of cutting the connector and connecting them like that.

Could I also buy a new socket and do it 'properly'?

I guess it's not a problem doing it with the block as I can always cut the wires from the knocker and install new ones at a later date.

Or de-solder the red and black wires from the knocker solenoid tabs and solder the yellow/purple wire and other wire direct to the solenoid tabs.

If you really want to restore the connector then @pinballmania normally has them (https://pinparts.co.uk/).

That's what I thought of doing but getting access to it is tricky without figuring out how to remove the speaker unit or finding a small enough nut driver to remove the nuts in that space.

Annoyingly i placed an order with pinball mania earlier in the week before I realised what other items I nay require!
