My taxi has developed an odd new behaviour, throwing it out here before going down any rabbit holes in case someone has experienced something similar with a System 11 game.

When I turn the game on, the start button does not work, and nothing shows on the diagnostic lights. If I leave the game in attract mode for 5 minutes, the start button will start a game. If I turn the game off and on the start button still works.

Regards,
Chris

Just the start button or all switches? Probably temperature related, get a can of freeze spray and cool the related chips down.

Thanks for the reply @drhex

I investigated some more this evening. After switching on the machine, I entered the switch edges test mode, and most of the switches recorded a short on the display and did not put the switch name, just the wire colour and row. From memory, lanes A, B, and C, and left and right lane change switches were fine . I also noticed that the left ramp exit was causing the left sling to fire when actuated.

After 5 minutes, the switches would be fine, and all switches would output their name, and I could start a game. If I continue playing, after a few games, the fault returns.

I'll run more tests tomorrow and capture some notes on the good and bad switches.

Have you checked for any battery leakage?

Remove the balls from the trough and see if this happens.

Hi Shaun

I fitted a remote battery years ago so we can probably rule that out.

Can I check; by removing the balls what is the expected outcome?

Thanks
Chris
