Hi Guys,

I’m new to the forum and I was hoping someone could help me out.

I’m a dab hand with a brush and was hoping to buy a machine which was sound mechanically but one which was somewhat knackered cosmetically (I wouldn’t want to ruin a perfectly good machine)

My plan is to make a Goodfellas machine for my Dad’s 50th and was hoping to find one at a reasonable price, hopefully one which doesn’t have any call outs or machine specific titles on the display, as changing them would be well out of my capabilities. I’m pretty open about the decade or brand.

I’m hoping to spend a maximum of £800 and I can collect pretty much anywhere in the UK.

If anybody has anything they think would work well or even just some advice, I’d really appreciate it.

For a game without callouts or speech you are looking late 70s or earlier game. And some on here would seek to lynch you if you defile a salvageable game .It is a bit like killing a polar bear .or black rhino .

These old games make bongs, chiming noises, little beeps, bings etc as sounds so would just be lame for a gangster themed pin .

Remember that all games have plastic bits on the playfield that are themed. You would have to theme the backglass. The cabinet and head .The playfield .The plastics.

You would be taking on one hell of a job .and at the end of it noone would want to buy what you have spent man weeks creating unless you are a truly awesome artist.

Why not get a sopranos Pinball instead ? It is a good game. And you would recover good money if it were ever sold .and you would not spend man weeks of labour mucking about.

I understand but if that’s the case then a later machine where I could disable the sound effects would work as well.

I understand that it would lose its value and that it would require a ridiculous amount of work but it will stay in my family so that doesn’t really matter to me.

You could change the sound on sopranos using pinball browser. You'd probably be stuck with the dot animations but i may be wrong on that.

What about this?? £399 or best offer

Don't forget that not everyone is interested in a resale value! It's not all about sales. The op said he wants to make something custom for his dad and family. Who cares if a game is sacrificed in the process. Custom games can be better in many ways. Look at the custom goonies game a guy did in the USA for example.
