Private Covid Test Before Flying

A friend needs to fly long haul for family reasons.

Has anyone got positive experiences with booking a private covid test, administered by a Dr at a testing lab at short notice pls ?

My wife did one after she had to go on a trip abroad to see her mother. Cost about £180 and got the result back within 24 hours.

We've had a test this week booked through the government website. Go to the drive-through, take the swab . . . . results arrived by text the next day.

flew out to Finland last week and used these guys, Tested Friday results Saturday 6pm. company picked up the bill.

Any private GP service will likely be able to do this. Turns out our local pharmacy in the village also does it.

I found a lot of the private GPs would only do the tests if you're an existing patient - couldn't find anyone West/South that would do it - you may have more luck in London.

In the end we ordered kits online from https://www.better2know.co.uk/shop/products/home-testing-kits/covid-19-test which was easy to do, you drop it in priority post and they email you the results and certificate.
