Pre Certs

@edward.emms Spent a lot of my youth watching the 'so-called' Video Nasties - most of them were terrible films!! Flogged my collection of pre-cert vids years ago....now wish i'd kept some of them! Always the way with collecting things.

I had a full set of nasties and the alts so cut and uncut zombie flesh eaters , both sleeves for killer nun ect
Sold up in around 2001
Use to love Watford movie mart
Have a few on blu Ray / DVD and only a handful of tapes and a few Betamax ones
Quite proud of electric blue nude wives. Special and ugly George
My first nasty was shogun assassin and I still own that , but the super rare beast in heat , devil hunter , Isla Harlem keeper I sold
Don't miss them but do love the art work

@edward.emms Watford Movie Mart! I was at those as well - always a rush to buy what you needed before Trading Standards raided the place. This was the one at the leisure centre wasn't it?! Best year was when they had Tom Savini do a talk and show his out-takes from Night Of The Living Dead remake he directed :)

I must know you dude
I have a DVD from the event of a spin around the arena and of the Tom talk
I had all my videos signed back then
True story - stopped at mc d and met him there at about 9 am - he had a good chat and asked if I was going to the movie mart , one comment he passed was us fans get an item signed - uk was there collection

Used to get in early on dealer time as a few on my mates had a stall , but you must remember loui the vampire and pat

@edward.emms I'd like to see that footage you have of the spin around the event!
Yes, remember them! Wasn't quite the same when they moved it over to Welwyn Garden City.
Who'd have ever thought Nekromantik would get a UK release.

Strewth, don't tell me this is the full uncut version with muscrat and the turtle scenes?

I sat down with some friends many years ago to drink some beers and have a laugh at this movie. The mood changed after half hour or so and there was stoney silence at the end. Funny it was not, but it was a much better crafted movie than I was expecting. I've watched it a few times since and it still had the power to shock after all these years.

This was one of the first 'found footage' films....sadly a lot of people think The Blair Witch Project was amazing. They should have watched this film instead!

Cannibal ferox was another one out about the same time I think I use to live up the road from a video shop which the owner was right into all the video nasties at the time when he was selling up he gave me a box of videos about 30 in it I think should still have it somewhere might have to look it out see what is in it.

image.jpg The burning was one I always liked and do have a fetish for bloody moon on blu Ray
Nekro is nasty and in honesty never watched it in the late 80s and picked it up in cex knowing it was rare
Raiders of the lost shark was epic rubbish - porn quality acting

I devoted a small part of my life to tracking down uncut copies of the DPP list... until I realised that most of them are absolute gash. Haven't been collecting for quite a while, since I realised that it was getting a bit out of hand (I own seven copies of Deep Red, for example), but still maintain a pretty good Eurohorror collection.
