Yeah, I'm with you on this - Christmas is meant to be for kids and they wouldn't decorate their trees like a John Lewis store front. Start sneaking in some random decorations and hanging them on the tree - the more gaudy the better!

More than my life is worth. I got the kids to use fake snow ten years or so ago. It still gets brought up on a regular basis. At least I get Halloween
