Plunger rod help please

Hi, I am trying to mod a shooter rod with a new handle. Bought a brand new one and thought the plastic tip would shatter if I hit it but just snapped the end off!!!
Are these black handles screwed on or moulded to the metal shaft?
Any help please as don’t want to break another. I’m hoping I made as mistake and they just unscrew.

Is there a way of removing them? Mine snapped the rod where it joins the black knob? If not I will have to drill it or thread a boot into it so I can glue a handle on. Maybe I should have but it off with a hacksaw.

I’m making my own custom shooter rod as not willing to pay $150 from USA.

they have different ones. make sure it’s the correct length you need.

Brilliant thanks. I thought my original one had a screw on black top as once it snapped off looked like there was a brass cap moulded into the plastic.
I should have put it in a vice and tried unscrewing it before hitting with an hammer.

I will check size and get one ordered.
