My JP has stopped working with 3 errors: Node boards 1, 8, and 9 not found. Running node tests just returns "Not responding."

The CPU board has the VBN led status light off - so that's Node Bus Power fail.

Lack of power is confirmed by Node boards 8 and 9 have red led on for 48v but green for 6v is off. Node board 1 is missing the red 12v led.

To me it looks like the CPU is broken, but before I buy a new one is there anything else I should try or check?

It does sound like a fault on the CPU board. Maybe try with a new SD card (you can just swap one from another spike2 game). Assuming it really is not being driven, as a hack you could try wiring 9V (or even 5V is enough iirc) onto the VNB line of the RJ45 ports to force the nodes on, but that's not very safe in the long run.

Might be worth contacting Stern support, let us know what they say.

If you do buy a new CPU, remember that they are region locked so a US board won't work. I know a guy who can reprogram them though...

@Fubar Thank you for that and yes, I've already tried a different SD card. Didn't help.

Actually I was thinking of messaging you to ask if you could test it.

Stern support have responded quickly. They think the CPU's duff too but they did suggest I try swapping in a board from another pin.

Sadly I only have 1 spike 2.

Yes I could test it although most likely will just show the same symptoms. There will be a failed component somewhere but that takes time to identify and those CPU boards are delicate to rework. I'm happy to have a go when time permits but based on the current backlog it'll be months! If you get a replacement I could buy the broken one off you to offset some of the cost?
