IMG_3661.JPG Please can someone help I need to replace the coil above
But I have only got the coil below

IMG_3662.JPG

So what's the difference between the two?
It's for a three bank drop target
Thanks

A difference in windings and resistance. I'd give replacing straight swapping it a go, but don't take my word for it (what ever you do!) Kiss of death, me! :-o

Go on then please educate me what's the difference is one more powerful? Which one?

So ideally what your saying is put back like for like (as long as someone's not put the wrong one in previously?) but this is slightly less powerful so should be ok? but try it!
Ta as long as I'm not going to cause world war three or anything

I have alot of NOS Black Beast coils. I don't have that one though. Please report back on its operation (sound a bit like Sgt Grizz there....soldier)

If your pin is linked to Skynet WWIII is totally possible... remember if it hits the fan it was nothing to do with me or Dave. Nope.

The 090- bit is the DE part number.

The 23-800 is the wire gauge and number of turns in the coil winding/bobbin.

Other variations are for diode, bobbin length and tab position.

So would it be possible to shorten an 840 by 40, then re solder turns to make it an 800?

If you were so inclined you could unwind 40 turns from the 840 coil to make them equivalent. But I wouldn't bother they are very close anyway only 5% longer wire to increase Resistance similarly which would reduce the drawn Current (=Pull) by similar factor again (Ohms Law is your friend here). The difference in Resistance on the Marco coils appears wrong to me, according to this site 23-800 coils are over 4 Ohms https://www.flippers.com/coil-resistance.html

If you really want 23-800 I have some here on my old mech spares. Don'f forget these have a diode I'd probably use a new one on a 2nd hand coil.

IMG_3663.JPG IMG_3664.JPG Thanks guys:clap: been back through the ever growing spares and have located 3 suitable candidates all AE-23-800-03, checked the manual and it's says 23-800-coil so going to fit one of these
Thanks again for your help
