Wanted PINSOUND - any version

I would strongly consider Tilt! Audio for a fracture of the price. (Just in case if you are not familiar with it.)
Sorry Chris - but it is plagued with problems. I also heard of people ordering it and not receiving items.

This machine is a repair for a customer - I do not want the phone calls saying its packed up or not quite working.

Pinsound works. No problems - no hassles - no headaches.

Fair enough. Just wanted to mention as not everyone knows it. :)

I got one in T2 and it's brilliant. I think it's the latest one, v3.5. No issues at all. Obviously takes a while to assemble it.

I know @ChrisFormela - I would of loved for it to 'work' straight out the box.....

Have to have something that I know will boot everytime as I think my customer wants this machine to go on site.

A used pinsound vs getting a tilt board, assembling it, RPi etc - too much forking about.

I know exactly what you mean. Bit risky to put it in the customer's machine.
But definitely worth trying for the personal use. I think that they solved all the early stage issues. I've been using mine for last 4 months with no issues. I'm planning to get at least one or two more for my machines. Anyway... we are getting off topic. Sorry :)

What's the general opinion on these Tilt boards? I hadn't heard of them until they were mentioned here.

Apparently lot of people had issues with previous versions.
I've got v3.5. No a simple problem with it. (as long as you can assemble simple PCB).
I can record the video later. Got 2 sound packs for my T2 loaded and can switch between them with my mobile or laptop (web interface). Only downside in my opinion is smaller amount of audio packs but TBH, how many do you need??

I can't say a bad thing about the support either. I've spoke few times with the author over the FB. I've had few suggestions about the FAQ and assembly instructions and they were promptly updated.

For sake of ~£60 (with OLED) + plus price of RPi3 (or higher), definitely worth trying.
