Pinball Republic Critical Hit Summer Surprise! - 19th July

Great to see you both signing up Sam and Chris! Anyone else fancy it?

Good pre pinfest and Uk open prep - furthermore some UK open game announcements are expected THIS WEEKEND so a good early opportunity to practice on some of the games.

Going to be 40-50 people again in a relaxed atmosphere/fun day of pinball. All welcome!

Bump - a fair few more signups since last update, it's going to be good.

As others have posted today - we now have very few pinball clubs left - and they need your support. If you can make it - do come along (I know distance is a issue for many).

Just a brief message to show our appreciation for the critical hit tournament yesterday, me and Jack had a fun filled day together, thank you!
A particular shout out to the club members who were on hand to run it, they worked tirelessly all day long. (I would name names but you know who you are and we would not want to miss out anyone).
Great to catch up with all of you, and meet some new folk.
Couple of observations:
1) Neil. We appreciate your running commentary and instructional directions over the p.a. , but maybe hold the mike 6” away from you and just below the mouth, avoid shouting (difficult l know as critical hit arouse’s high levels of excitement) thus avoiding sounding like a 1980’s British rail
Platform . 😉 Then we maybe able to comprehend your tectonic comments.
2) The critical hit card to change rounds does hold things up a little, but the anticipation of a new round is rather stimulating in a strange way,
Plus it also gets one out of playing Evil Dead thus my new favourite card😅 (maybe the 2 games a round as previously is a good compromise).
3). The steal your score card really hits you between the eyes 👀! But after the 3rd time the pain eases….😂

Anyway I am waffling now like an old duffer!
Ohh and before anyone else mentions it….
Yes on my finals game i did totally forget that it was critical hit, and I had a swap the game card! I will leave it there.
All the best, fantastic day…. Keith and Jack. 👊🏼🤗

Another briliant competition which was just fun. Good to see some new faces and great play too. Highlights of the day were @Diw who put up 22 million on Whirlwind in his three way playoff to get to the B finals and @Jackpot who put up over a billion on THAT Indianapolis 500 in the A final. Congratulations to Yuen for his A finals victory and also to Nathan for his B finals victory. Good to see Dan Pike in the mix again in the A final Lucy Vince make the cut yet again, she is one tough nut to crack. The 1980's Weymouth wizkid also breaking the top 8 for A finals action, well done Keef. Pinfest looms and I feel we could see some outsiders/underdogs go deep in both the open and classics competitions, exciting days to come !!!

I'd also like to thank Neil and the organisers for another really fun event - it was good to have a more laid back comp as a change and everyone was in good spirits. I also really appreciate all of you who travelled such long distances to come - it really built a tremendous atmosphere with 54 players and as Neil mentioned, support for these events is critical to keep the club alive.

Well done especially to some of the Tilt league gang who came down and did well - some in their very first visits to PBR:
Bhavesh came an excellent joint 19th along with Dean; Marcus Miller was a creditable joint 36th.

Dan Seldon who is also pretty new to tournaments finished high as well in joint 24th.
And the Dunns seemed to be really enjoying themselves and getting into the action.

Tell your friends, spread the word - hopefully see many of you again soon at Pinfest/another event!

It was a fantastic event, loads of fun, and as Yuen said a lot more relaxed and laid back than some tourneys. Everyone was in good spirits, accepting when cards were used against them in good humour.
It was good to a load of people I hadn't seen before, as well as others such Dean, Ian, Tim, etc that I hadn't caught up with for a while.
The cards really mix things up. love the darkness card, where you have 4 people basically having no idea how well they've played until the cover is removed. Brilliant turnout at PBR, here's hoping for similar in the future.
Also make sure to visit venues even when tourneys aren't on. PBR, Special When Lit, Medway, Pinball Office etc all need our support, and a day's pinball is less expensive and far more fun than golf, or getting stuck with some DIY at home.
Huge thanks to everyone involved in making these things happen, it is massively appreciated 😍

Golf makes me dizzy and I can't even put up a shelf, I'm free Saturday so I'm going back down to PBR !!!

It was a great tournament. A real fun spin on a regular matchplay tournament. It was great to catch up with a lot of people who I have not seen for a while and also some new faces. PBR was buzzing and Neil was on fire when the cards started flying in. Credit to the whole team at PBR as they do an amazing job and apart from 1 stuck ball that I had every machine was in top condition.

I was really pleased with my placing but also slightly gutted to miss the finals cut off by 1 point.

With Tilt now closed I just wish places like PBR, Medway, SWL, Pinball Office were all closer to the Midlands.

Sorry @AndyB but it looks like I am playing golf next Sunday ha ha
