I've spent a few days in here! It's the best place for pinball in the world :)

Here is a youtube video, best if you view it directly in youtube though

More detailed version as requested by @andybadcats

Enjoy!

Just returned from Vegas myself and spent a couple of hours here. Is a great place and got chance to play about a dozen not seen/played machines before. Bit dissapointed though on the lack of Gottlieb Sys 80 and no Capcom machines.

This was the highlight for me, really cool game and not easy getting the ball up to the top level. Spent a lot of dollars on it.

It is nice that despite Circus being the single most valuable pinball machine in existence, Tim Arnold is happy to operate it so that us mere mortals can get to play it. It's a very cool machine.

Surely you can't expect somewhere that is open 12 hours a day 7 days a week to be operating Capcom games? There are almost no spare parts for Capcom, the games would become unservicable in a few months.

Did you get to play any of the unusual Gottliebs? I liked Cap Hop and Vegas, and even Mario Andretti.

They also have pretty much all the super rare Gottliebs there including "Going Nuts" which does the reverse multiball thing. That's the only place in the world you'll play one of them. Also hope you checked out the Qbert, that is wierd as hell!

And lastly, hope you played Big Juicy Melons as you won't many (or any) of those in the UK :)

I was there just over a week ago. Played 2-3 hours until the wife got bored, she isn't really into pinball.

Superb value: I love EMs as well as DMDs and at a quarter a go, about 20p, you can just play and play, especially when you're winning replays too.

So frustrated that Circus was not working with a burnt out coil when I was there, else and otherwise a fantastic visit.

And lastly, hope you played Big Juicy Melons as you won't many (or any) of those in the UK :)

But I did get to play Big Juicy Melons towards the end of our visit and I was little disappointed. Perhaps I expected too much or maybe I was just getting played-out at that stage. The small flippers and retro style isn't a problem for me, as I said I like EMs, but for some reason it didn't quite grab me. I'd like to try it again sometime.

I usually do 5-6 days at the PHOF per trip (without my wife there getting board) - drop her off shopping

Funny enough she did spend about half a day there this trip as she played the WOZ quite a bit. I also got her playing the old mechanical bowlers and shuffle alleys, and even got her to play some 2 player on the head to head pin! I've been wanting to play that one for years!

I wouldn't want to own a Juicy Melons game, as it is a lot of money for what it is, but I actually enjoyed playing it and loved how nice the ball control was despite the small EM style flippers. I eneded up playing 5-6 credits on it, thats enough of a fix on that game till my next visit :)

Did you get to play on the Retro pinball LLC - King of Diamonds? If you like the EM's, then I am interested in your take on that one. I quite liked how it had the rolling score changes between players/highscore and some of the minor extra features, coupled with a more snappy feel than the original

Yeah suppose so.... I actually expected the place to be bigger and when arrived, thought I was in the wrong place as it looked so bland from outside. Probably not helped after all the glitz of the strip.

Played all the Gottliebs there but was expecting more System 80B's than just the one; Excalibur that wasn't working. Was peeved about that. Enjoyed Space Station and Elvira ATPM which I hadn't played before. Did play Big Juicy Melons but stumpy flippers just aren't for me really. Didn't see Qbert anywhere..... If had more time in Vegas probably would have gone back when less tired, try out some of the large EM collection too.

Qbert was between Spiderman and RAB

You don't sound overly thrilled about visiting the biggest collection of operated pins in the known universe

There are nearly 6000 unique game titles, so you can't expect them to have everything.

I believe Tim has another 1000+ games at his house, so we can only hope that in his lifetime he manages to move to yet another bigger building and get even more of those games setup.

Unfortunately you missed out on the Riviera Pinball Hall of Fame (their second location) as they closed the Riviera last month when I was there for demolition. I'm glad I got one last play there as I have fond memories back on my first trip to Vegas of having breakfast over at the Riviera food court and then popping into the arcade for my ritual after-breakfast game of pinball, it was mostly a lineup of system 11 and early WPC's back then. They had quite a few Gottliebs there just before they closed it last month, so you missed that unfortunately

I didn't.... just a few expectations didn't deliver is all. Still said it was great, not sure why you're being so defensive. Some never seen before games I played/enjoyed (to varying degree) included:

Pinball Circus
Terminator 3
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Monopoly
Playboy
Elivra ATPM
Waterworld
Car hop
Big Juicy Melons
Mario Andretti
Gilligans Island (!)

... and some others I can't remember now.

Because the PHOF is heaven on earth to me

Car Hop was good fun, I've never seen that one before, that's from the crossover period of system 3 games that look and sound alot like 80b's

What did you think of Gilligans island? .... It's just so ..... wrong  Especially on the times when it does the little song when you start the game

Rats No!! You've jogged my memory: I saw it - told the missus I had to play it (someone else was on it) - and never got back to it. There were too many machines and not enough time.

Have an Excalibur coming from Poland in august so could be at northern lights if you fancy an 80b fix lol

Going all the way to Vegas to play Roller coaster Tycoon and Gilligans, I'm speechless.

Simply picked out all the ones I hadn't seen/played before... one game on both. Didn't have another. There wasn't that many solid states hadn't played before.... Gilligan's was OK but of that era/manufacture, Elvira was much better.

Would be a nice addition to the Gott line up. This is all I got from the one at PHOF, photo of a non-worker. :( Least I've 'seen' one at last.

Was half asleep whilst at PHOF (and maybe I missed some delights as a result) but think enjoyed playing this, Elvira and Space Station the most, particularly the latter. Oh... and glad I never bought that Waterworld some months back.

Also played their Firepower with the drop targets put back in like the prototype. Only downer was that it was turned down too low and couldn't get my sound effects fix.

Yep, Elvira and Space Station were fun. I didn't like most of the Gottlieb sys3 games (except for the older style crossover games that I mentioned before) , as you know, they all tend to have the same sound and speech from game to game, and it's quite annoying (Freddy)

I really liked that Firepower! The drop targets are a must have!

It was turned up loud enough while I was playing it so someone must have messed with it.

That's why I spread it out over 5-6 days, far too many exciting machines to play in only one day. I reckon I get though about 90% of the tables, there are some real gems. I always go for the rare and unusual stuff first to make sure I get them played. The maintenance schedule is pretty good there. If a game is broken, there is a good chance that it will be up and running on my next visit 3-4 days later (Except for Black Hole, I've never seen that one turned on in years - they need to move that one out!)

Sadly I have not seen Orbiter turned on for a few years now either, it's got a big hole in the irreplaceable playfield, so not sure how they are going to patch that one up. I'm glad I got to play it a few years ago when it was fully working

Is that the one with the weird lunar landscape and super weird magnets dragging the ball everywhere? They had one at Budapest if you're doing a tour-de-pinmuseum :)

That's the one. There's a nice one at the Pinball Parlour in Ramsgate if you can ever get there. Great fun machine.

Agree. Shame they're like this after such cool sounding System 80B machines. The Stargate I have here at moment is the same, goddamn awful sound with repetitive call outs.

Played Orbitor 1 last week, very different game although for me the novelty wore off after just 1 go, there's not exactly a lot to do on it, despite its age.
