A couple of years ago I investigated how much electricity my pinball machines consumed when left on at the wall socket, but turned off with the undercab switch.
Given the increase in the electricity price cap to 28p per kWh, I thought a re-posting might be useful ...
My games at the time were consuming current as follows:
Williams
Scared Stiff: 0.078a
Funhouse: 0.033a
Addams, Banzai, Fish Tales and Transporter: 0.015a
TZ and Whirlwind: 0.014a
Bally
Centaur, Fathom, Paragon: 0
Stern
ACDC: 0
Gottlieb
Genie: 0.015a
The total current draw was 0.214a. Over the course of a year ...0.214a = 51.36W , per day = 1.23 kWh, per year = 450 kWh. As electricity now costs around 28p per kWh, total pinball standby cost for these 13 titles = £125 or so.
