P-roc Indianna Jones - PC no booting

Hi all,

Friend has got an indianna Jones bought from here. The game has suddenly stopped booting. Simply loading up a random screen with details of the pc at the top.

From looking at the P-roc manual it appears that it can’t establish a usb connection. Everything else status wise is ok from what the leds can tell me.

I’ve reseated all the connections, turned the pc on and off from the actual box. Same result.

Is there any ways to get round this? Safe mode launch or such like? Or do we need a new pc?

Can you post a picture of the screen as a starter for 10?
 
You will have to lift the screen out so I can see more please?

Looks like the HDD/SSD is kaput or has lost the MBR.
 
No nothing at all. My mate took the picture as I’m not with it but was with it this morning and there’s just that single line at the top
 
Just pulled this out for you, as I after seeing this thread I was interested in the status from the board. Should be able to tell if board is ok to narrow it down a bit, USB status etc.

Thanks buddy. Seen this and read it at the time and what lead me to establish the pc was the issue.

All lights are showing correctly apart from D43 which is the usb connection to the PC.

That’s probably because the PC won’t boot?
 
Like Arv mentioned about the boot, grub loader. The computer is on but it's stuck at loading the OS, so that's not completely dead.

Once you can get back to your OS it should be ok. You do need an OS for the FGPA to work with driver, on any , windows / linux etc.

Okie dokie.

So is there any tips on how to get it to the OS? Safe mode boot or something?

As mentioned mate there’s nothing else on the screen.

I had the whole thing out earlier screen laying face up as I tried various options. There’s absolutely nothing else on screen other than a white border and that text.

I’m not with the machine now but I can send someone in to look at it. But there’s definitely no other text other than what’s on show there
 
I would double check connections, reboot when you get it, then still if have issue you could try and recover it. If it is issues with your drive then grub probably fails before that screen.

Yeah you would need one if you want to check / fix something and if it's "stuck" like it is trying to debug. You might be able to push ESC or Shift as it boots to get into loader config.
 
You will have to run fsck on the disk under Linux. There are guides and what not out there.

First thing is to see if you can see any partitions with grub.
 
Or maybe, just send me the computer??

I try to support everything that i've made, regardless of age, even though i believe this game was self built by the original owner back in 2016, or is a kit i supplied but has been modified later with a different amp.
 
All sorted. Even though no options were present we hooked up a keyboard pressed enter a few times to see what would happen and it booted back into the system.

A ball fired out of somewhere and it now turns off and on and boots fine.

Glad its all sorted again now. Simple solution in the end. These games are lasting pretty well seeing as this kit is now +6 years old and the game itself is +14 years old
