From a previous thread seems a few of us follow Space Exploration as well as Pinballs!

9 years ago today (July 8 2011) saw the final launch of the Space Shuttle programme.
Atlantis had the honours. I tried to get causeway tickets but the servers just kept crashing all the time so watched it at home with a drink in hand.

37th mission to the ISS
33rd launch of Atlantis
100th Day Launch

I grew up following the programme from the Enterprise test flights to STS-135.

Saw a couple of launches from The Causeway and my took my two sons to see a launch before its retirement.

A reminder here of all the fuss!

I like the commentary at 15.20. "All 3 engines up and burning"

Atlantis return from orbit on July 21st and now is an exhibit at NASA at the Cape.

Funny, Alexa availed me this nugget of info earlier today when I bade her a Good Morning :D

She doesn't like hanging out in the rough end of town 😛
