So I must have ****ed off someone and got some bad karma. Haven't really played some of my games for a few months and fancied spending a couple of hours mucking about only to discover six bloody machines are playing up. Most of the errors are probably down to lose wires etc but my WH20 has decided to automatically adjust the volume level when switches are hit - never had that one before.
Got the feeling that this weekend is going to be less about playing and more about tracing errors.

I'm back in London now if you need a hand, been fixing Tim's FT today so he can vouch for my MAD SKILLZ

Cheers Robin. I'm planning on having a fiddle today but if I get stuck I may well take you up on this one. Think the WH2O might be a bitch to solve.

I do sympathise - it does seem to happen like this when you have a few games. I'll say it again .......there is nothing more unreliable in the world than a pinball machine  Playing Wills Transformers last night, for no obvious reason balls just started getting stuck in the lock....so its not just the 20 yr old games that throw wobblies.

The last time one of these threads popped up, I felt smug that my machines were all working just fine. I didn't post anything because I am smug and not stupid and knew that would result in my machine working, apparently the Gods of Pinball can read my mind and chose to screw with me anyway.
1) CFTBL: A different set of GI's stops working during play.
2) TAF: Locks balls in swamp, then gives a two back at some point undoing SHOWTIME multiball.
3) A13 (Cooldans): Hates me and I don't want to talk about it.

John, if I had that WH20 issue I would put in earplugs.

When I have had probs before with seemingly random coin door buttons being pressed its been related to acid damage on the CPU board. Might be worth having a close look John that there hasn't been any battery leak in the past. Look for any 'green funk of doom 'on component legs etc

Well three of the issues are now solved. Two flipper rebuilds, God I help them. AFM now back up and destroying the saucer. Found the error on LOTR was down to a sheared off pin on one of the flippers. Didn't have the bit I needed so improvised with some of my sons Meccano. That's going to confuse someone in the future but at least it works for now.

WH20 is getting worse. Volume keeps resetting and random awards are going off when playing. Reseated the cables but no better. Sadly I think Ive's going to be right and there's been a leak somewhere.
