Howdy -

Theres one of two threads with some postings of pinball in the North East - but nothing "generic" for NE discussion.
So not knowing which thread to hijack, sod it, i'll make a new one!

With that said:
The Mrs and I are heading to Spacebar Sunderland Thursday 6th Nov, around 7pm.
They have 5 or 6 NIB Sterns that are all in ridiculously good condition - and a fresh IC leaderboard.

Anyone welcome to join us :D

There was a thread titled Durham Pinball which was hijacked by Newcastle/Sunderland as there is no pinball in Durham.

PInball Map is generally up to date for the NE as local pinballers do keep it updated.
 
Some new pins at Spacebar - will update pinball maps later.

- Foo Fighters
- Godzilla (An LED popped out mid game for us - had to inform the owner and turn it off)
- Street Fighter
- Bond

Also got the high score in Deadpool, on the IC leaderboard :)

Does anyone reckon there’s enough appetite for a north east league or monthly type comp / meet up? Spacebar seems to have quite a few pins now so would imagine the owner would be interested in more pinheads visiting?
 
Definitely. Maybe we could use space bar as a regular venue the same way as Ian @windoesnot does with his mini “fun” league at level in Preston and now Blackpool pinball club.

Long term I would love to have a regional league and I was hoping to get one going once I am able to host. Maybe start with a mini league at Space Bar to gain momentum for a full regional league.

I am sure @steve brum will be supportive of us using space bar as they are his machines in there I believe.

Count me in!

I'm sure it would make a great tournament venue and the owner would appreciate help from tournament experienced forum members. Stern are keen to add stern army venues outside the US
 
Thanks, Steve. And thanks for providing the machines you do. It’s a great venue. I try to get over there once a month after work to play the modern sterns.
 
Hi guys, I’m the owner of Spacebar and I’d love to start hosting tournaments and monthly meet-ups. I don’t have much experience running these yet, so if anyone local would be interested in helping me get started, it would be hugely appreciated. We now have 11 pinball machines in total
 
I live many many miles away but if anybody wants to run tournaments and needs help with stuff like setting up Matchplay, sanctioning tournaments with IFPA etc, feel free to drop me a message and I’ll help as best I can 👍

Your venue and lineup is very similar to Retroids where we just had 42 people out for a tournament!

@Rob davo -Is there a good week night that doesn’t interfere with your other events? Btw- i know nothing about running a pinball comp but am happy to try and organise a meet and see where we go from there. Paul @Asiapinball will probably be much better placed to help out in that respect as I know he’s wanting to help develop a north east type league with his own set up in the future
 
Apart from a Wednesday night as its sons footie training and his mums running club so no leeway I'm pretty much free atm.
 
I’ll certainly help out. Never run a competition before but will head down to Preston for the next meet there so Ian @windoesnot can show me the ropes.

Thursdays are good for me as I am usually in the office that day so much closer to Space Bar.
 
@Rob davo - any dates in Feb or March on Tues evenings? Also- the IC scoreboards look like you get some regular pinball punters - would be a good shout to promote on your social media once details are firmed up
 
We have a date for our competition / tournament we're are looking at Sunday 8th of march still to be all confirmed thou

yes we get a few regular players in and lots of people still finding us

soon as we have confirmed everything I push it on socials ect.
