I turned on my MM tonight for a quick game and it beeped 10 times during the start-up and I've lost all sound?
According to the manual, 10 beeps means "Audio Static RAM Failure".

Not sure what this means? Do I need a new sound ram chip or is there a fix? I'm a complete Muppet with boards and don't know a RAM from a ROM.

Try reseating the sound ROMs first and also the ribbon connectors to the board.....see if that improves things :)

ok just tried that but still the same.

Also, if you haven't for a while, change the batteries.....

Just put new batteries in, error still there. It says "Sound Board U9-11 RAM Error"

I've got spare ribbon cables, I might try changing them one at a time and see if that cures it.
