No Fear - Phantom error message

Hi all,

I was lucky enough to get a very nice No Fear last week. As described by the seller upon offering it, it has a phantom error, that as far as I can tell doesn't effect gameplay, but the error dot will annoy me and this one's most likely a keeper.

Has anyone come across this before or can you point me towards where I should be putting my multimeter / camera:

When you switch it on it will report a fault with the centre magnet opto. The game plays perfectly (including the centre magnet). If you play a few games the fault will clear itself. If you open and close the coin door the fault clears and if you switch the machine off and straight back on again it will start perfectly with no fault report.

I looked for the corresponding switch in the test mode, but couldn't find anything with the same name - something like 'C Magnet switch stuck; IIRC.

Cheers

Lloyd.

If the credit dot ****es you off do this. Turn the machine on and let it boot up (credit dot). Turn the power off and then straight back on (no credit dot).

Done the factory reset route Grizz, fault comes back.

Andrew.

Strange one that is. Have you tried bypassing the suspect opto wiring direct to CPU board?....Perhaps there is an issue there? Failing that i would suspect the CPU board of being at fault. Perhaps 'The legend' could chime in on this one?
