Hi all,
Just an update as to what been happening here at Pinball Info Towers....
So tonight I have been spending some of your donations (and other monies that have come into the forum coffers) on a couple of things...
Firstly is that we are all paid up for the next 12 months for hosting
Secondly I have donated to a couple of crowd-funding projects for the forum. These are both pretty major add-ons and will definitely add content and expand the site.
One of the advantages of crowd funding is that it guarantees the designer/programmer the cash and it's usually released in stages to them once parts of the project are complete. It's also a major safeguard to the cash too - the cash doesn't get released to the developer until that part is completed. The other bonus is that early adoption means that the products are usually at a reduced price, and you get an input on the final product itself!
I'm not going to let on what they are at present, however they will take anywhere up to 10 months for them both to complete (Hopefully sooner, however programmers don't like to put deadlines on things too soon!).
Ok, so we're not in the position where we have almost dedicated programmers like some forums, or a bottomless pit of money we can use, however all being well we can all work towards making this a better place for all
I'll keep you posted closer to release time on these
Catch you all soon
Paul
