Stern Pinball To Release TRANSFORMERS Pinball Machine

World's Only Maker of Arcade Quality Pinball Announces Newest Addition to

Stern's Timeless Pinball Lineup

MELROSE PARK, IL - September 20, 2011- Stern Pinball, Inc., the world's only

maker of real pinball games, announced today upcoming plans for a pinball

machine based on the iconic TRANSFORMERS brand from Hasbro, Inc that will be

available later this fall. Collectors, casual players and avid fans can all

expect nothing less than an epic TRANSFORMERS adventure.

Since the birth of the franchise in 1984, the TRANSFORMERS brand has been

celebrated with toys, comic books, animation, summer blockbuster movies and

more. Under license from Hasbro, Stern is now proud to be adding pinball

machines to the lineup. Players can expect the classic battle between the

heroic OPTIMUS PRIME and the villainous MEGATRON as well as other beloved

AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON characters.

"The story behind the TRANSFORMERS brand makes for a perfect translation

into pinball," said Gary Stern, founder, CEO and chairman of Stern Pinball.

"We're confident that the long anticipated machine will please the eyes,

ears and the hands of even the most diehard TRANSFORMERS fans."

The TRANSFORMERS game continues both the Stern Pinball and the Stern family

tradition of producing quality pinball machines for young and old. The

company traces its lineage to Philadelphia in the 1930s when Sam Stern

entered the business of operating pinball games. Stern passed his lifelong

enthusiasm for the game and the business of pinball to his son Gary Stern

who founded Stern Pinball. Today pinball remains one of America's favorite

pastimes.

Sound like it could be a pretty good machine. Lets hope Stern get it right as they did with Tron. Only down side is the price just seem a little unfair that we have to pay so much more this side of the pond.

So they are now pricing the LEs above the original WOZ pre order price

I hope the toys actually do something because at the minute it just looks like a lot of cheap plastic figures dotted around the playfield

I love how they are actually using the fact that they are doing proper screenprinted cabinets now as a selling point as well. They should have been doing this all along!

It does seem a shame if the toys don't actually 'transform' or do something, but I suspect they won't.

Though at the end of the day a toy is just a toy - I couldn't give a hoot if 'Thing' on my TAF never came out of his stupid box ever again

, as once you've seen it a thousand times the novelty kind of wears off.

As with any new Stern - proof will be in the playing/software/rules. And that goes for WOZ too.

I'm sorry, I know I'm Stern bashing here, but could they possibly find cheaper looking toys? These look like they came out of a $1.99 happy meal. Seriously.

Like already said they need to move and do something especially in a LE version.

Y'know i looked at some of the new transformers toys my mates kids have and the quality of them is just shocking. The plastic has a very cheap feel with the same shimmery gloss finish and detail akin to a happy meal toy. Wouldnt surprise me then, that the manufacturers of the toys (hasbro?) have supplied similar, crappy quality toys for the Stern Pin.

I remember my old optimus prime and galvatron toys and can remember the plastics having a much better feel and with far better detail than those of today.......Oh, and the new ones are bloody complicated too....

G1 Transformers are the best

I had a load until my mum sold them at a car boot sale

Transformers and He-Man were the best 80's toys ever!!!!!

New Transformers video.....

Not sure if it's an official release though, the vid doesn't seem finished.

Interesting, it was viewable when I posted. It did seem like it had been leaked though as it wasn't finished. There were parts where words were shown on screen to indicate what should go in that section of the vid.

LOL. Am i surprised? Not at all..... I bet they have a department aptly named 'corner cutting'.......
