Mine never followed the ball. Half the time it seemed to look the other way especially when you lost the ball. It was like,

yeeehaaa! its alive! followed Jim (my pinballs) advice and bought a motion board from Australia (ebay) plugged straight in and the head turned instantly- no software upgrade,plug and play-thanks Jim
