Godzilla set to £1 a credit and £2 for 3. However when any ball drains it adds 4 & 3/5 credits. Ball save on=no credits, only when the ball ends its gives exactly 4 & 3/5 credits. Cant figure it out. So with three balls its giving me over 12 credits.

On godzilla i have coins set to £1 a credit and £2 for 3. That seems to work but then when the game starts it keeps adding more credits about 5 a ball. Always end up having the max 30. Any idea how to stop this? Just want the coin only for credits or game match

Have you checked the replay score settings? That could be giving you more credits.

It gives about 5 credits every ball drain and that is even without scoring a point. Would the replay scores do that?

Depends how they're set. About 5 is a bit vague, could it be the match sequence?
I'd double check the settings to be sure

The coins work as intended. As soon as the game starts it either immediately adds credits or it waits til the ball drain then adds a fraction number of credits

Ok a tiny bit more detail

There was a rumour that certain electronic lighters, if used near the coin doors of arcade machines in the late 70s, would give free credits. We certainly flicked 2p pieces up the 50p side of the reject slot of Harlem Globetrotters to get 7 credits, though.

Try removing the apron & checking if it's any particular switch that's adding the credits.

It could just be a flaky switch or it is loose, have a look at the credit switches. Also try and reseat the cables that connect the coin mech.

Most of us here just run our games on free play and wouldn’t encounter that problem.

I have never owned a machine of this generation.

Can you go through the award menus to see if anything gives 4 and 3/5 credits...

Replay
Special
High score
Some particular coin

What if you unplug the connector between the coin mech and whatever board it plugs into .... does it still happen then ?

What if you put it on freeplay, does it still happen then ?

Can you board swap known good coin mech or mpu boards in to help isolate the problem ?

Can you update the software ? Could it be a bug in dodgy Stern software ?

What if you change the credits awarded by coin type ? Do you still get 4 and 3/5 added

You want to fiddle around to try to prompt a change in behaviour
