Found it! Modern LCD Stern - max £6,000 budget

JP2 suggestion above is a good shout for on location; very popular theme, but can be a tough game to master, so often not particularly long games?¹

any particular reason you want to spend your money on a modern LCD Stern rather than a classic 90s DMD game?

for six grand he could buy Batman Dark Knight, or Simpsons Pinball Party, or Creature from the Black Lagoon, or The Sopranos, or World Cup Soccer. he'd have change left over from any of them to put a telly on top for the goons to stare at FFS.

Even ACDC was brilliant, that was about 2014 or so (?) so is that a 'modern Stern'? ACDC doesn't have a LCD in it. i hate LCDs personally, they're just a distraction from the action, which is on the playfield and is entirely physical and analogue.

anyway i'll stop drinking now and go to bed

Same reason why I would watch a new film at the cinema or buy a new book! Not because I expect it to be better than old films/books but because I haven't seen/read it before.

I own a mixture of games, last night I played AFM, TZ, IJ, TWD, ACDC, JB. But Bond got the most play because it's my newest and I love the code.

TSPP and LOTR also had great code but I've played them to death so sold them on and no interest in buying them again, would rather buy Jaws. It helps that some of the new games are designed by world class players nowadays too.
