So having now acquired a MMr I’m considering upgrading the display to the XL one when it’s finally released.

Now the LCD screen that’s in there at the moment is it like a colour DMD and you can put it in any machine ?

if so what sort of value are they ?

Looking to offset the cost on the XL by moving on the original one if I can as will have no use for it having only the cash and space for one machine

Pretty certain the normal colour MMR screen is pretty much worthless if you take it out.

It’s not like the colourdmds as it doesn’t have the same hardware on the back

It is a special LCD screen - like you get in a laptop, but a custom size.

I have found the company that can make these larger screens. You can get one slightly smaller but not identical easily but they may have an agreement not to produce them for anyone else.

You can not put the old screen into another pinball - it is purely a screen with a DVI input (the small board computer outputs to mini HDMI and then a lead runs to a DVI convertor that goes into the small PCB that runs the screen and powers the back light).

Hope this helps.

Cheers chaps was hoping they just put a stock one in

Can’t see me stumping up the cash for an xl screen to be left with an expensive paper weight !

The screen is only worth about £50 anyway. It’s a fairly standard OEM screen that is used in loads of things.

New screen is a special letter box size to fit it into the space.
