This spare from a full playfield swap on my recent HGOT refurb

Pre-pre owner tried to strip it. didn’t really do a great job as he had mechs poking through.

I was going to bin it, but then realised it’s perfectly restorable, with an overlay.

First job is to remove all the inserts


One is broken, another is missing (see first pic, no shoot again insert)


Next clean, scrub, get rid of dirt and old glue. also cleaning out the insert holes on the playfield.

Sanded the playfield and the inserts. now nice and smooth


The overlay is flattening on the dining room table.

How do you find games play on these overlays @AlanJ?

The one I did before, I applied some clear coat over the top and it plays really well.

Inside jobs day today as it’s hissing down. So I decided an ideal opportunity to finish this off.
