Medieval Madness - Left Popper activated randomly during game play

Hi,
Can somebody help me out?
The left popper inside the castle (that must kick the ball out of the castle) actived randomly twice during the gameplay.
When i start new game, i get a ball and mostly the popper pops 2 times.
Also sometime when i start a new game, i get a ball and before i kicked-out the ball into the game, i get a second ball already into the shooter lane

when i do switch test, the opto's from the kick-out of the castle are working fine.
Also the switch in shooter lane it working fine

The game have all rottendog boards.
also pin2dmd installed, but then i take that off the issue still exist

Somebody any idea?
 
I had exactly the same issue with mine. On mine it would pop twice usually whilst the ball was in the pop bumpers and there were vibrations. And the drawbridge would come down even before it had been hit. And on some rare occasions the catapult would activate. Does anything else randomly activate?

It turned out it was a short on one of the switches in and around the gate mechanism. I'm not sure which one because I dismantled the gate and replaced diodes around that area and made sure diodes didn't touch anything metal or we re anywhere close to touching when i reassembled. I'm still not 100 percent sure how I fixed it exactly but it was a switch issue. But I suspect it was the diode that is tucked right inside the gate mechanism was shorting. It's the one on the left side of the gate. It's really tight in there.

The popper has optos and will activate when the ball in it breaks the beam. Effectively this was being activated when other switch was being shorted somehow usually when ball on pop bumpers and lots of vibration.

The issue did not show up in switch test -likely because there were no vibrations causing the short and probably needed multiple switches to be activated.

It took me a long time for find it and I did a lot of swapping over of parts e.g. the under playfield opto board to eliminate issues.

Good luck - it may take some time.
 

This may help.

Low 12v can also cause issues with opto switches - do you have mods running off the 12v eg pin2dmd etc.

noting else activating as long i know.

But you story descipt the same issue.
i kicked out the ball, and when it is in the popbumper area, the moat popper goes twice.
and also sometime indeed the brigde is going open. (i thought first that part was maybe normal in the game)
but i gonna do what more reseach now on the popbumpers and see if the moat popper also works during the game if the ball is in the popbumpers :-)

as far i remember, only pin2dmd, and led strip in topper, but they are not the issue, cause if i pull them out it was still popping.
also have have trolls eye lighted and light in the castle.
