Made a start today, just about finished tonight, it's been an 10hr session.
I was very pleased with the volume of kack removed.
Probably 1st deep clean since production in 2004.

Strangely enough I enjoy the full strip down n clean as the results last time were outstanding on STTNG, and so I presume that the difficult Ring shot will be easily managed from now on.

It's a great benefit to gameplay after these big cleans.

Next up I suppose I'll need to learn about updating ROMs on all my games.

Well I thought I'd done well n got it all back together all clean n shiny.

Hit ring with ease first try, the using right flipper to shoot back on itself up sword ramp first attempt too, whst a difference a good clean makes, i struggled to hit both before.
I then realise my error, I've put the locked ball detectors too low.
What a pig of a job to have to re-do, major disassembly and probably the most difficult to have to do as there's a few parts to remove to get to it and when you do, there are 3 pieces (sword, ball lock & steel cover over lock 1) held on by one pair of bolts and aligning them isn't easy on your own.
I'll get the tools back out of the garage then...

BTW, is there a replacement part available for my tired Palantir target anywhere?

Still, it's looking wonderful, bright and shiny.

Yes Marco sell it in the us, it's just a standard target, pinball heaven will be able to get it for you if you ask.

I bought a set to replace all of mine and some stickers from pinball life and Marco.

I might have a spare as I have boxes full of LOTR bits as I basically rebuilt mine.

What a coincidence, I just found the set of 4 in US but for $20 I thought I'd leave it.
Mine is barely noticeable levels of wear so no big deal.

If you did have the eye going begging, I'd possibly buy it but tbh it's no big deal as you can see I'm OK for now.

Time for gin n LOTR session right now actually 😋
