Hi all, great site, been lurking around the last few months, I am a new member but have been about in the UKVAC / Arcade Otaku scene for several years so anyone who visits either may have seen me about (I restored an Outrun DLX a few years ago and recorded it all on the vac).

I am on the lookout for one of the following tables. I am based in Suffolk but have used Martin many times and can also travel about myself to collect depending on location.

I am ideally after a project rather than something that has already been restored. I enjoy the process as much as the games themselves.

This list is in order of preference.

Gottlieb - Super Mario Bros

Data East - Jurassic Park

Data East - Rocky and Bullwinkle

Gottlieb - Street Fighter 2

Williams - The Getaway 2

My only real ideals are that the machine is as complete as possible and with a usable / non warped playfield.

Thanks all.

Data East - Jurassic Park
Williams - The Getaway 2

Those two titles in particular are very good machines imo.

I think the Super Mario Bros is very hard to find.

Good luck with your search. Hope you find one of these titles.

Welcome Clarkey, you deluxe restoration was incredible 👍 if your looking for something that you'll want to play after you've done restoring, i'd advise you stay away from both those gottliebs, both are terrible tables imho and you'll get bored of them quickly. HS2 is a classic and definitely worth picking up, DEJP I've not played but would like too and seems pretty decent, R&B I'll not played either but doesn't seem to get much love.

I know you said 'ideally' a project but there is a DE JP on Ebay.
It was up for £4000 ages ago, went up in price and now back down to £4000 so they may now be open to sensible offers.
If I didn't have a Foos on order I'd be offering on this as I do love an old Data East.

I had Street Fighter II as my first machine and really enjoyed it, but after playing a few more games I realised it actually wasn’t a great pinball machine.

If I was you, I would try and get out and play as much as you can.

Good luck!

Thanks, the Mario Bros / Street fighter are more due to nostalgia as I played them a lot at a local pub as a kid. The others are ones I have played and enjoyed as an adult + like the themes.

Cheers, appreciate the feedback on the Outrun.

Whereabouts in Suffolk are you mate.
Kessingland up near Lowestoft.

I have been looking at that, it looks like it's been through one of the pinball vendors not sure how good there work is, what's the normal going rate for a JP?

Cheers, I can appreciate that and the Mario are a bit basic. Ideally I would love one of the two Goitlebs and a JP or The Getaway.

Hopefully something comes up :)

Howdy fellow East Anglian!

I'm in Sudbury, if you ever fancy a trip down you're welcome to come try some games out, (currently around 12 working atm). I do have a DEJP but it's currently at a friends. I don't think I'd sell it for some time but happy to consider loaning it out in future once it's been back home for some TLC.

Personally a players condition JP is probably close to 3k now.
I got mine for close to that but during COVID and it was imported from NL, so i paid a premium as I wanted it. At that time they were around 2.5k I think.
Since then I've LED'd it, added a colour display and fixed a lot of quirks and faults over time so I'd probably never get back the money I've spent on it😄

There's a few of us in East Anglia so if socialising and playing pinball is your thing I'm sure you'd be welcome to come play some games and get to know folks sometime😄

Thanks appreciate the offer, would be good to try some.other games. Last time I had a decent go on a few was at Arcade Club around 2019.

I'd snap up that JP on eBay at 3k but they won't budge bellow 3.5 and it just feels a bit too high.

I'm adding Popeye to my list of wants as well if anyone ever thinks of moving one on.

Cheers

Definitely a project, the price seems 'slightly high' considering the condition.

Thanks for the heads up, bit more than I would want to pay for a project. Thanks though.

I ended up picking up the above Popeye, certainly a massive project, poor thing was in a right state but the playfield is decent (now the mylar is off), busy going through and learning my way around it all / refurbing as I go.

Good man saving the Spinach King

Some years ago at the peak of my Popeye obsession and at the peak of my Popeye like powers I wrote a stupidly long guide to the game :D So if you have any questions ....

Also in a formatted version

I have been refering to your guide a lot, it's what prompted me to finally pick one up :). Thanks for taking the time to make it.
