I've bought a RecRoomWorld Ultra VP 7.5, looking for someone who is able to courier it between Brentwood Essex and Sunbury in Surrey ideally give it a quick check over to make sure it's in the as new condition the seller stated on pickup.
If you're able let me know what your rates are.

Thanks

Thanks I've PM'd Matt although might be quite far out for him. The machine is actually in Liverpool Street in London (the seller moved it recently apparently) so would be from there to Sunbury.

Edit: Ah just realised Matt is in Sussex and not too far away, I think I confused him with Martin who I saw others recommend.

Matt is your man for this kind of work!

Just out of interest, isn’t it a bit odd that is located in Liverpool Street?

He had a man and van move it and did say they had scuffed the vinyl on the backbox during the process, the extent of which I'll see in a video tomorrow.

So yeah there are a couple of red flags. I'll need to see it in person first as Roland from RecRoomWorld said they won't transfer the warranty on sale which makes me nervous.

I cancelled the purchase this morning. The backbox was more than just scraped and looked like it had taken impact damage, combing that with no warranty transfer and the seller asking I use a payment method with no buyer protection.

To be fair that's quite typical. Most businesses don't extend their warranty to a second buyer, and I certainly wouldn't sell a pin to someone who paid using a method where they can claim their money back! Bank transfer all the way.

That backbox damage though is unfortunate and should be reflected in the price. It can be fixed but would require new decals.

I do find the warranty transfer rules odd. If I buy a one year old car, the warranty goes with it.

But I guess if I bought a 6 month year old laptop, would I still have a manufacturer’s warranty?

It's more the story, if all this was upfront sure, but if you sell on eBay, wait until payment, then deliver this info it raises red flags. 2 days ago I was told it was in "as new" condition in a different location. If you're paying cash for something with no recourse then you really have to buy the seller as well as the machine.

I can understand the warranty but I find it odd, Roland from RecRoomWorld stated:

we have no control over how the unit is handled when it changes hands

Which I don't really understand as they have no control over how the unit is handled in the original buyer's hands.

But regardless it's more that I don't personally feel comfortable buying such an expensive unit with impact damage without warranty, the screens on the Ultra VP are industrial monitors not sold commercially, so if something were to go wrong with any of those its a real headache to rectify and gets really expensive buying spares off them in the US, if it was a vpin with purely off the shelf componentry that would be a different matter.

It is reflected somewhat in the price (5k for a machine that would cost 12k to order directly, although 12k is just silly really).
