In Progress Junkyard clean up

Picked up JY from Matt last week, great To meet him. great guy and very knowledgeable. Bought this basically working as is. Believe to have been stored for a while. Doesn’t look to have been gone over for a long time So I decided to strip it back as there was a lot of 20+ years worth of dirt in places. Only thing for it is to do the lot. I was hoping to get it don’t in a couple of days but have been put back waiting for parts as usual. Hopefully it will be all good when it’s back Together. Looking forward to actually playing it. Stripped it before I even switch it on.
will add pictures of before and after obviously, won’t go in to too much detail as pretty much the norm for most of us

Started to get some bits cleaned up ready to go back in. first thing was the translite light tub. could do with a bit of retrobriting but I will revisit it for that

playfield pretty much stripped and then cleaned. will give it another go over before assembly

next was to do all the insert LED's. All boards cleaned, connectors reflowed and inserts cleaned

yeah it all needed a bath. to be honest its a very simple game to strip. not too much on it which is nice. especially after TZ

couldn't get much done today as none of the parts have arrived as of yet. Apart from some plastics from col, that look awesome as always. just rebuilt the flippers and gave the wiring a tidy up, as it was all over the place, one of the coil wires didn't even have any solder on it Going to get a shooter housing protector to try and cover the wear, all new parts for shooter with correct white spring. need to sort or replace coin door as its pretty battered. major problem is its bent in the centre, not sure how easy it would be to get back in shape. and someone like snipping wires in there. no lights wire up on coin slots. will try and sort as don't really want to be paying £150 for a new wpc 2 slot door

So I tackeld tidying up the coin door wiring this evening as it was a bit of a mess. better for now. put the switches in the correct position and wired up the lamp sockets as they had the wrong connectors for the mechs. The door isn't great to be honest as quite bent in so hopefully will upgrade at some point with a new harness but It will do for now. Also give the cab a decent clean. not the best nick but colours are great and looks fine to me. Just the Bally speaker panel is annoying me. will likely have to order a new one from ministry or alike. lets hope some parts arrive tomorrow so reassembly can start.

Decided to also make up some homemade pin stadiums to help with lighting as I had nothing else I could get on with. there on a dimmer as full is far to bright but seems a very dark game and really not a fan of spotlights littering the playfield for the minimal light they actually produce. much prefer these on a low brightness so I can see where that bloody ball is. not that really helps also lit the trough as normal.

No I never had one in mine, I did want to get one for it but ended up selling it. And yeah ColorDMD did a real good job with the dots for this one

Basically all back together m. Not too many things to do. Flipper bats haven’t arrived yet so using some spares for now. And a couple of replacement plastics and decals. Other than that she’s basically done

Yeah there not too bad [emoji23]. Will have to sort something soon. Hoping to get to flip out when there back open. Haven’t been there properly
