Complete Judge Dredd coin door

I absolutely love reading other people’s logs and watching machines being brought back to their former glory. So I thought I’d have a bit of a go myself, sort of. Not a total shop log as I really don’t have the time, the space or the expertise to undertake a full resto.
But we’ve all got to start somewhere right?
Picked up a JD and the coin door is in a scruffy, worn state.
Looks like it needs a bit of TLC.
Here goes.

Coin door removed and as can be seen there’s a lot of paint wear and some surface rust.

Components removed and all ready for a good clean and prep.

Got some high build primer which should do the job

First coat done and nearly dry. Looks like a nice finish so far.
Time for some tea & toast then back later for 2nd coat

Top coats done. Pleased with the finish.
Door frame back on. Time to to attach all the mechs to the back of the door .

And we’re complete. Really pleased with how this has turned out.
