Another day, another pin to fix.
A nice gentleman has sent me his beloved Johnny Mnemonic for a 'no compromise' restoration of the playfield and electronics. I've been asked to "do my thing" and make it as nice as possible. So here goes...
Upon it's arrival, the first thing I noticed was just how stunning the cabinet is. This seems to be a brand new cab and it's been done to a very high standard. Not sure who is responsible for it, but as you can see it's rather nice:

All black inside:

So new, it doesn't have lamps in the back board yet:

The playfield is in excellent condition, although it does need a full strip and clean, but it's so nice having something good to begin with.

The electronics. Looks nice and clean. There's a new DMD controller board but everything else is standard. Old roms need updating and there's a few problems which I think are being caused by bad connectors, cold solder joints, and broken ribbon cables.

Here's one such example of crappy connectors, which were causing problems with the GI not functioning correctly. Easily fixed.

At the first glance, the underside of the playfield isn't too shabby, although it does need a clean and every mech will be taken apart and rebuilt. On close inspection, the most annoying problem I have to face is that some tool has sprayed oil into ALL of the coils. Lucky I got it at this stage before it ended up in too much of a mess:

No coin door! No worries, a brand new one will be going in here:
