Wanted Invisiglass

Low iron glass is still fairly reflective, if it doesn't have the non-reflective coating then not really worth it

Hi

Just awaiting confirmation I can go and collect. Hope to have by this w/e. Will post images of my pins with and wouthout for comparison. Lights on/off etc. will also compare existing glass depth. Look forward and hope the upgrades merit the investment. Ability to play with subtle lighting🤞
Sadly my order is delayed, potentially later next week now.

Picked up invisi/museum glass. Had for several days and gathered my thoughts before posting.
Overall, for me I would say its an improvement. Especoially like the difference in night time play with reduced lighting, visability is much improved.
Reduced glare, clean new glass with no scratches.
Glass is lighter than i previously used.

Whilst i have no calipers to check depth, feels and looks the same to what I previously had, 4mm.
Doesn't fall out the rails.
Knowing its dual coated and toughened gives confidence in quality. Glass has the kitemark.

Good overall experience with Carlise Glass. CA2 5XW. They deliver within a 50m radius. I collected in person.

Attaching some pictures, but tbh doesn't really give it justice, difficult to photograph.
(Ignore the nose guard and planking on the TAF...)

Looks good. Does it stop most of the reflection from the dmd? That’s what bothers me with normal glass

There's a couple of other options if that is the main concern...
You can get a film to reduce the glare from the display, or a glare guard which fits between the display and the glass to block the light.

Got a link for the film option?

One such option...

Evening Steve, as per Neil’s comments . Glass makes a difference, definite improvement, but does not remove all DMD reflection.

If you go down the route of film or dmd guard, let us know how you get on.

Are you able to take a shot of a machine with original glass and new glass for comparison please? I’m interested to change the glass in 5 of my machines I have set up.

Thanks
Steve

Photos/vids do not really do the change justice.
Additionally I needed to reduce video size in order to be able to post them, so video qulaity may be limited.
Take a look at the backbox reflection in FirePower, that gives a good example of difference.

Some bumpf from Pilkington Glass that create the product....

BTW received a price from "sales@specialistglass.co.uk", based in Huddersfied. HD3 4NY. https://www.specialistglass.co.uk/
The following includes VAT.
Regular size pinball glass - 4mm optiview toughneded polish 4mm dual coated (G1_TBLR) 1092*533mm £130.03
Widebody size pinball size - 4mm optiview toughneded polish 4mm dual coated (G1_TBLR) 1092*603mm £146.41

Glass is produced by Pilkington glass, specialist glass is a distributor.

Whilst not as economical as Carlise Glass, they are 130 miles nearer, to me.

A mate of mine owns a window company, I get 4mm toughened glass for £25 - £35 per pin ( it fluctuates) … all my machines have this fitted . I frame the edges with the” soft side” self adhesive Velcro to make it feel solid and you can’t see it on there once in place . Never had any issues doing this With flying balls! Quite happy to get one or some for anyone if you can pick up from Hastings area.

Good idea with the anti rattle tape on the edges. I’ve got some 4mm in some of my games so I shall try that 👍🏻
