Intermittent speech banzai run, williams system 11

Hi

The game sounds, background music etc always work

Sometimes the sound and speech work perfectly

Other times it is sound only

Occasionally, the speech will start ok, then stop

Any ideas what this might be please ?

I'm guessing you have tried the usual reseat of ribbon cables and the sound rom chips ( assuming they are socketed )?

Had some very strange sound issues with my loaner TZ the other day, all of a sudden the sound volume was very quiet and the coin door volume controls had no effect on the output, max volume or zero volume the sound was fixed at pretty quiet. Also every player change the game would say " player 3 " even though there were only 2 players on the machine. Reseated all ribbon cables and all issues fixed.

Had similar on taxi. I reseated everything and it's been fine

Re-seat the EPROMS ?

It's ages since I worked on a System 11 but do they have seperate amps for the sound and music ?
