Inlane Guide Lights - To Drill or Not

So... the flickering lights on IMDN are back (actually have one in my TWD too... so will do same fix to both). @Pick Holder youve said before to replace the holders. I have seen on Pinside people drill a pilot hole and use repurposed proper lamp holders to fix it. Or do you use the same style and staple gun to put new ones in?

I would hate to sell a game and this issue be present because it ****es me off when a game comes in like it.

This is right under the flipper assembly so would have to be like for like wouldn’t it? The lamp holders with the small bracket that screws in place would protrude too much wouldn’t it??

You can and many have on pinside straigthened the arm and screwed it in, using electrical insulation tape as apparently the replacement holders are stronger and last longer. Is that true? I am not sure.

If it was me - swap like for like on a new pin. If I was to buy a newish stern for top money - I wouldnt really want to see bodge up mods on it. If it was a 20-40 year old game I would do whatever was needed to keep it going as no doubt operators did that before me.

Exactly my thinking @Pick Holder - I’d prefer like for like but on the other hand, if the other ones were indeed more solid, maybe it would be viewed as an upgrade.

Ordered a staple gun too but to get it just right.
