Indy 500 - queries on under board 'joint' and LED

Hopefully a couple of questions from a 'noobie' that will be bread and butter to rather more experienced hands:

Please excuse the almost certainly inaccurate technical descriptions of some parts!

Query 1:
Whilst having a look at fixing a sporadically malfunctioning rollover switch I spotted a washer and part on the floor of the cabinet ( pictured below) . On closer inspection this comes from a joint which appears to connect a solenoid arm to a 'return' arm that operates one of the main rubbers. I've had a look at re-assembling (whilst being unconvinced that it would go back together as the spring clip was still in place and other end had come out) and concluded that it doesn't just clip back in place ( or at least not without taking components off the bottom of the playfield) - for this problem my questions are should I:

A) loosen components off playfield slightly to allow easier access when dropped down and it will all clip back together?
B) get a new component for the joint, then follow step A - if so from where?
C) get a new assembly and replace assembly in it's entirety - if so from where?
D) give the machine up as a lost cause, take a couple of fuses out and put it on eBay with reserve/bin of £2k and say that it worked fully until recently and I believe it just needs some new fuses?

Question 2:

Illumination of the playfield is fantastic with a super duper LED conversion by a previous owner.

I've had 1or 2 of the LEDS not illuminating in the past , but this has been fixed with a quick 'wiggle' (of the LED, not me) or swapping of LEDs between sockets.

I now have one persistently unilluminated LED (pictured below) which has not been fixed by several 'wiggles' or 'swaps' (but sockets work with other LEDS inserted) , hence I'm concluding the LED'bulb' is faulty.

What is the best source for a replacement? I'm assuming these are fairly common?

That particular led is from 1stoppinball. The poxy little wires on LEDs are often a problem, try dragging the wires a bit sideways so they are at a bit of an angle rather than straight up. Better chance of a connection then if the led is still working.

Give David a shout for LEDs @alchy . His website is http://www.pinball-led.co.uk/

Re: the under playfield mechanism, take it off and inspect it for broken parts. If everything is there then rebuild it and then put it back on the game. It will be a lot easier to work on out of the game.

Ahah -thanks - I'd tried straightening the wires (as they'd seemed angled) so may have been exacerbating the problem rather than fixing it. Will try 'waggling' the other way and failing that contact pinball led as Ron suggests

Thank @ronsplooter - hear what you're saying about taking off , I appear to have all the parts, but thinking that the part that has fallen (the joint) off has failed so I'll need to source a replacement?

Is it not just another washer and spring clip?

And sporadic screw in bulb holder illumination can also be caused by a dry solder joint on the connector for that light board just had to reflow one for that same reason

On the ' joint' question no - on the matching unit on the other side of the of the playfield the 'other' end of the barrel of the joint I.e. Away from the spring clip appears to be just a 'domed' cap ( which appears to be still on the part that has broken three, but possibly worn down so it has pulled through the hole/joint - hence almost seems to abbé a manufactured assembly

It's the arm that's needed, a A 12664.
Either Pinball Heaven or Pinball Mania can sort you out.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies & info (@kevlar for the schematic which also means I now now what it's called, @replicas for confirming the specific part & @RudeDogg1 for reply & checking) - all very much appreciated!

I'll get on the case shortly about sourcing the part.

Reassuring in a slightly perverse way that it want quite as simple a fix as I'd originally thought and that I couldn't just re-assemble the parts I had:hmm:
