We just had a power cut when I was in the middle of Destroy the Ring on LOTR, which got me wondering; what was your most inconvenient power cut, pinball related or not?

nothing worse than having a power cut whilst you are working on a pin with a soldering iron,I was convinced my solder station had packed up,until I realised the power for the whole house was off

That’s really annoying!
I ended up buying a small portable Honda generator, I used to have a marine tank with loads of expensive stuff in. Hardly used it but do start it every so often.
Should just about run a pinball though if I have a power cut and get bored👍

We used Matts small gen - might of been Honda? - when we p*ssed about taking ACDC down the seafront to promote the 2014 South Coast Slam [emoji3] Worked a treat as you can see.

The crack SCS squad of @Matt Adams @Will @cooldan and yours truly. That was a lot of fun.

Looks like the same gen, sweet will have to take a pin to Tenby😂

I once tapped a socket on the wall that I was about to blank off and extend to another location at a place I used to work.

The second I touched it a third of Birmingham city centre lost power and all my pals who saw this - to this day - believe it was me touching the socket with my finger.

Those 2kw Honda inverter generators are extremely good. Have been the best on the market for years

I once plugged in a new Japanese PC at work. Didn't realise the extension cable I plugged it into was the last in a line of fifteen extension cables, the first of which had foil wrapped around the fuse!!

Machine was faulty and shorted. It took every floor of an entire office building, mainframe room (generators were faulty, so that was a whole other issue) and every PC in the place and required specialist electricians to power it back up due to the frying of the main supply boards.

When I say 'entire', it was the whole building except for one PC which was on an 'emergency' circuit that had UPS power that no-one knew about.

Guess who that PC belonged to :D

That extension cable daisy chaining with foil wrapped around the fuse (??) sounds like a disaster waiting to happen anyway, to be honest!

Tourney at SWL. 2 power cuts in Salisbury but not on our estate. First one knocked out all the games so affected game against @Nickoss II short while later playing @robotgreg the second cut only took out games being played which destroyed my chances in that game.

Slightly different was AFM resetting just after startng rule the universe multiball. Only time anyone had reached it on that game and it craps out!

worth checking out some of the batteries from goal zero. I've got their 3000 which at full charge will run a pinball machine for about a day. longer if the sun is out.

10minutes before the start of a comp at Electric Circus half of Nuneaton list power - at least the table football and pool table still worked
