Illuminated flipper buttons

hi,

I have just had a set of illuminated flipper buttons delivered from pinballcenter.

I have received the below kit but no instructions - can anyone help explain what I need to do fit to a machine?

Swap buttons
Split cable, put connector on red and black and push onto lamp holder
Push LEDs into Lamp holders
Connect up to 12v supply (assuming other end of wire is molex connector) front right hand side of cab near to flipper button
Check where you get best light shining through on each button then screw in

Should have made it clearer initially but other end of wire is not a molex connector, how does this change things?

Those red things are scotch locks they allow you to crimp the a wire onto an existing wire. I assume there are two bits of wire and four scotch locks ?

Only two scotch locks and one piece of wire, though I could cut the wire in two if needed?

From what I can gather it seems that none of the noflix stuff on Pinballcenter comes with instructions

Not that I can find, there are some for other kits, such as cointakers, but the parts are different.

I'll drop Pinballcenter a mail on Monday as their illuminated apron cards are even more baffling

Sure thing, just mailed them now asking for instructions. Will share on here once / if received.

Exchanged some mails and long and short of it is no instructions or photos of installed kit for reference, only thing of use they could provide was:-

'we not have instructions for Buttons, mount it left and right, put cable from right to left and than to coindoor bulb, this is all'

For a plug and play guy like me still not so clear

There should be enough red/blk wire to reach between the two buttons with enough left over to connect to the coin door bulb socket tabs.

solder one red/blk pair end to one of the flipper lamp sockets, route cable 'comfortably' to the other flipper lamp socket. Cut red/blk pair to length and solder to this socket.
Referring to the attached pdf, this pair are now your Scotchlok 'run' wires.

Position the Scotchlok connectors on the 'run' wires to achieve the best feed location from the coin door bulb.
Hopefully there was enough cable cut off to become the Scotchlok 'tap' wires to solder to the coin door lamp socket.

Thanks for the info rob, now i just need to dust down the old soldering iron at some point. If I ever get round to doing this I'll post results here.

Mods seem to be totally hit and miss. I've run into a similar problem today myself with this topper which could have ended up being a total pain. No instructions, seller just told me to hook it up to 12 volts or a plug, not much help for someone not electrically minded. I don't really get how these sellers don't understand not everyone is electronically minded and seem to assume people known how to splice wires and connect them up to a power supply. I well prefer stuff from people like @Judge Dreads who provides not only plugs so the things are super easy to install but instructions as well! No instructions though at least is p*ss poor!

It will make the sellers think about including some instructions in future, It's not hard to help your customers, tossers..
